What is in-covenant? Being a Christian means being in covenant relationship with God and with his people. It means because God has made promises to us—that he loves us, calls us his children—that we can make promises to live in relationship with him and each other as a community. To join liberti is to enter into covenant here.
What is an in-covenant retreat? An in-covenant retreat is a two-night getaway with a bunch of other liberti people who are also investigating being in covenant here. You stay at a house or lodge together, cook meals together, hang out, hear some about what the church is trying to do and be together—enjoy God and one another. You have to bring a toothbrush.
Who should go? Anyone who is not “in-covenant” at liberti is invited. We limit the size to keep it manageable (less than 30 people). You don’t have to be a Christian to come. You don’t have to sign on the dotted line to come—it is a time to investigate.
When is the next retreat? Spring: March 19-21, 2010
